Germany is one such country and, along with Hampshire, Hertfordshire is working with the German RFU on how to develop the game and increase participation in the sport at all levels and ages.

A TringRugby spokesman said: “We are very proud that TringRugby has been selected as a good example of best practice to demonstrate English club rugby to our visitors.

“We hope that they enjoyed the day with us and are able to take some good tips and advice away with them.

“It was certainly interesting for us to hear the challenges that they face and to be able to offer suggestions and solutions. We look forward to welcoming them again in the near future.”
