Gade Valley Harriers hurtle out on the trail of the Hash Run

This week's big club run for the Gade Valley Harriers was their Hash Run on Saturday.

This involved Guy Woollett from the Harriers getting up at the crack of dawn to lay a trail of strange chalk symbols round the woods and fields of Chipperfield, giving directions to be followed later.

Some of the directions were deliberately false and the Harriers following the trail had to work out the correct route.

Covering six off-road miles, the most enjoyable run finished with much needed food and drink in the adjacent Two Brewers pub.

Gade Valley triathletes Susie Ivin, Emma Nash, Jacki Eskdale and Scott Dixon were brushing up on their cycling skills at the weekend when they completed the Prudential London-Surrey Ride 100 race on Sunday along with 26,000 other cyclists.

The route started and finished at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, taking in a wide loop of the famous Surrey Hills, including the infamous Box Hill.

Despite numerous accidents which delayed the ride, Dixon was first home for the team in 6:08:12, followed by Nash 7:22:43, Eskdale 7:47:23 with Ivin crossing the line in a total time of 8:25:57.
