Young Berko side closing in on promotion
Pierce Kelly got the winner as Berkhamsted’s development side beat Newport Pagnell Town Reserves 1-0 at home to remain five points clear at the top of the Suburban North.
The win was almost certainly enough to clinch promotion to the Suburban Premier for Joe Sweeney’s young side.
It is only mathematically possible for Berko to miss out on the two promotion places if they lose their last four games and Leverstock Green win their remaining six games.
Levy also need to overturn a 35-goal inferior goal difference, while Binfield would also need make up a five-point deficit.
