“Our overall performance was very good,” said Brennan. “We defended really well throughout the game, and the tempo in our play was of a high standard.

“We played with good imagination, we created numerous clear opportunities to score and also controlled the majority of the game.

“In the second half I felt we passed the ball really well and showed fantastic character to take the game to the opposition after going in a goal down at half-time.

“We will play worse this season and win games.”

The Tudors are yet to win at Vauxhall Road this season, with each of their victories coming on the road, but Brennan is pleased with the progress made by his side.

“We have played nine Conference South games now and I honestly believe we have improved game upon game and we are learning fast,” he said.

“Our performances have been good and I don’t feel we have the points we have deserved so far this early in the campaign.

“We will continue to work hard on the training ground and make sure we keep improving to make sure we get the points on the board.

“The players have a fantastic attitude to work for themselves first and foremost, and also each other as a team. The harder we work the luckier we will get. This I believe.

“The morale in the camp is good and we are looking forward to the next game.”

Brennan was also full of praise for the Hemel fans, adding: “I have to say The Tudor Army were in fine song on Saturday afternoon against Hayes & Yeading.

“Keep up the good work guys, and keep being our 12th man – it’s appreciated by all.”
