It started with the visit of Southern League Champions Kings Langley last Tuesday night. Although Ath lost 3-0 they played very well against a very strong side who took their chances well. But the young players will have learnt a lot from the experience of competing against talented opposition.

On Saturday Aylesbury United were the visitors and a close and well contested game ended scoreless. Both sides had opportunities but were denied by good saves from the keepers.

With the preliminaries over Tring get down to the real business with a trip to Harpenden Town on Tuesday night for a Herts Charity Shield (First Round) game.

Tring made the final last season and this will be a tough encounter against a side that finished fourth in SSML Division One last season.

Then on Saturday Tring kick off their FA Cup campaign with a Extra Preliminary Round game at home against Desborough Town who hail from Northamptonshire and play in the UCL Premier Division .

The league campaign gets under way the following Tuesday, August 9, when Leverstock Green are the visitors to The Grass Roots Stadium for the first local derby of the season.
