Tring end friendlies with goalless stalemate

Tring Athletic completed our pre-season programme with tough friendlies against two senior clubs.

It started with the visit of Southern League Champions Kings Langley last Tuesday night. Although Ath lost 3-0 they played very well against a very strong side who took their chances well. But the young players will have learnt a lot from the experience of competing against talented opposition.

On Saturday Aylesbury United were the visitors and a close and well contested game ended scoreless. Both sides had opportunities but were denied by good saves from the keepers.

The league campaign gets under way the following Tuesday, August 9, when Leverstock Green are the visitors to The Grass Roots Stadium for the first local derby of the season.
