Sunday League round-up: Seventh heaven for Apsley Athletic in County Cup romp

Apsley Athletic surged through to the next round of the Herts FA Sunday Intermediate Cup as they thrashed Oaks FC in the fourth round of the competition.

Jack Wood, Ollie Gurney and Chris Linsell bagged a brace apiece, with Aiden Byrne completing the rout for the BSFL representatives.

Greenacres II also booked their place in the next round as goals from Callum Jones (2) and Scott Bangerte earned a 3-1 triumph over Garden City Galaxy.

In the BSFL Sunday Junior Cup, meanwhile, Ollys Athletic secured their place in the third round as Louis Miller and Kenny Harrington did the damage in a 2-1 win at Berko Tornadoes A.

Gossoms End were the big winners in BSFL League Division One, romping to a 5-0 victory against Hemel Athletic as Rob Patterson hit four goals, with Will Brookman also on target.

Jack Johnson had his shooting boots on for Jam United as they were 5-2 victors at Potten End Sunday; Keii Roberts and Steve Hurril also netting.

Greenacres Tavern went goal crazy in BSFL League Division Two, romping to a 10-2 triumph against Old Bell Athletic thanks to strikes from Shaun Stevens (3), Danny Roberts (3), Brandon Parrott (2), Daniel South and an own-goal.

It was high fives for Hemel Tudors in a 5-2 win against The Queens Head – Chris Chance hitting a hat-trick and Jamie Long bagging a brace.

In BSFL Division Three, GB Precision and Leather Bottle shared a 10-goal thriller, with Ryan Sewall (3) and Bradley Waller (2) netting for Precision and Ben Butler (3), Will Wall and Nathan Buckingham replying for Leather Bottle.

The other game in the decision saw AFC Saints draw 3-3 with Boxmoor; Bradley Turner (2) and John Walker on target for Saints, and a Tom Colquhoun hat-trick in reply for Boxmoor.
