Sunday league round-up: Including victory for Echoes in the Herts Junior Cup

BSFL representatives Echoes booked their place in the next round of the Herts FA Sunday Junior Cup after beaing Roving Reporters Reserves 2-1.

Chris Pearson and Brad Phillips got the goals for Echoes in the preliminary round clash, but it was not such good news for A&A Flooring as they were knocked out of the tournament in a 5-2 loss to Angel Ware.

Dave Thomas netted a brace for A&A but it was not enough to prevent his side from crashing out of the competition.

In league action, meanwhile, Jay Austin bagged a double for AFC Boars in a 4-2 win over Berko Tornadoes in the Premier Division. Lewis Cruwys and Sonny French were also on target.

Berko Athletic had Tom Kelly and Craig Anscombe to thank for a 2-1 win over Flaunden, while Joel Williams earned a 1-0 win for Comets Sports club against Doves United.

The other game in the division ended in a 1-1 draw between Gossoms End and Park Rangers.

There were plenty of goals in Division One, with Paul Hunt’s brace helping Leverstock Green Corinthians to a thumping 5-0 victory at AC Grapes. Alex Kinsley, Ross Adams and Paul Witham completed the rout.

Both of the other games in the division ended in 4-4 draws, with Greenacres II sharing eight goals with Apsley Athletic and Potten End Sunday versus Jam United also ending all square.

Jocketts were the big winners in Division Two, thumping Landrovers 7-0 in a ruthless performance.

Matt Bateman scored two, with Ryan Sewell, Jack West, Tom Read, Dominic Holmes and an own goal completing the scoring.

It was high fives for Focus as Alan Tizzard (2), Damien Kehoe, Sean Lane and Chris Cutler secured a 5-1 triumph at Clarkwood, while Hemel Athletic beat The Queens Head 2-0 with goals from Ben Fisk and AJ Adzahoe.

Two goals from Tom Childs and one from Scott Bangerte were enough for Adeyfield to win 3-1 against Robin Hood, and Palace triumphed 3-1 at The Midland with efforts from Dan Woods, Tom Rau and Jamal Ayoub.

Old Bell Athletic were the big winners in Division Three, thumping Berko Athletic Reserves 7-1 thanks to Ryan Walsham (2), Lavinia Zgimbau, Steve Clark, Matt Richardson and Jamie Russell.

Sporting Blackbirds romped to a 6-1 win over Gade, while goals from Sean Grange, Brad Turner, Dale Dresh, Matt Flowers and Graham Aikman secured a 5-1 win for AFC Saints at Boxmoor.

Adeyfield Reserves beat The Old Bellgate 2-0 with goals from Phil Molloy and Ryan Luke, and Berko Tornadoes A won by the same scoreline against Hemel Tudors. Nick Gain and Daniel Bond got the goals.
