Six injuries add to the misery in a big defeat for Bedmond Ladies
Bedmond struggled to find their feet in the opening minutes and Houghton took full advantage, going 2-0 ahead within five minutes.
Bedmond where shocked into life and raised their game, pulling a goal back when a cross from captain Abbie Harrison forced a headed own goal.

Hide AdThe game was then fairly even for a while, despite injuries to three Bedmond players who courageously continued.
There were opportunities at both ends, but pressure from Houghton eventually prevailed as they struck again in the 40th minute to take a 3-1 lead in at half-time.
Early into the second half, the fight and determination of the Bedmond ladies saw further injuries and an early exit from captain Harrison.
Houghton piled on the pressure and notched further goals in the 55th, 60th, and 65th minutes.

Hide AdA head injury to goalkeeper and player of the match Vicki Taylor, as well as a very late and careless tackle on full-back Miranda Wellington, reduced Bedmond to 10 players.
As a gesture of goodwill, Houghton also reduced their numbers, but Bedmond were left-empty-handed despite showing great courage and commitment.
