Semi-final heartbreak as Boars crash out of the cup

AFC Boars' dreams of lifting the Herts FA Sunday Senior Cup came to an end on Sunday as they were beaten 3-0 by Skew Bridge in the semi-finals of the competition.

There was better news for Everett Rovers, however, as the Premier Division side had no trouble in brushing aside Division Three outfit Leather Bottle in the quarter-finals of the BSFL Steve Norwood Challenge Cup.

Reece Camerom and Harry Gilbert got the foals for Rovers to earn them a spot in the semi-finals.

In league action, Flaunden were on form in the BSFL Premier Division as they thumped Berko Tornadoes 4-1 courtesy of a brace from Matt Bateman, a strike from Lee Butler, and an own-goal.

There were plenty of goals in BSFL Division One, with nine of them coming in Apsley Athletic’s 6-3 triumph over Greenacres II. Jack Wood (2), Ben Fisk (2), Chris Linsell and Max Budgen got the goals for Athletic.

Efforts from Harry Darby and Will Brookman, along with a brace from Josh Hobbs, were enough to secure a 4-2 triumph for Gossoms End at FC Intervino, while Potten End Sunday won 3-1 at Hemel Athletic thanks to strikes from Ned Ozkasim (2) and Dan Green.

The other game in the division ended in a 2-2 draw between Jam United and Echoes.

Old Bell Athletic recorded the most convincing win in BSFL Division Two this week as they earned a solid 2-0 away victory against Sporting Oddfellows – Ryan Walsham and David Browne doing the damage.

The Queens Head battled their way to a 3-2 win over Berko Tornadoes Reserves as Asa Foster, Andrew Hardy and Ben Osborn found the net, while Landrovers won by the same scoreline at Hemel Tudors thanks to efforts from Pat Rushton (2) and Dave Wates.

Greenacres Tavern and Comets Sports Club Reserves, meanwhile, shared an entertaini8ng 2-2 draw in the division’s other game.

BSFL Division Three saw plenty of goalmouth action as Boxmoor romped to a 4-1 hammering of Victoria United, with Christian Hough, Shaun Williams, Rhys Cassidy and Haydn Cassidy getting the goals.

GB Precision replicated that score as they hit Hemel Harriers hard courtesy of strikes from Ryan Sewell (2), Bradley Waller and Charlie Hebborn, while a John Walker brace was good enough for AFC Saints to secure a 2-0 win at Ollys Athletic.

Greenacres II Reserves added three points to their tally with a 1-0 victory against The Midland, Bradley Waters getting the goal.
