Preview: Tudors looking for a positive response with two games in quick succession

First up is a trip to Maidenhead United tomorrow – the first time the two sides have met since the 2006/07 season* – before the Tudors host Concord Rangers at Vauxhall Road on Bank Holiday Monday.

Maidenhead are currently unbeaten and are placed second in the league table; they started the season with a win at home to Sutton then won and drew with Bishop’s Stortford and Gosport Borough, respectively.

The Tudors, meanwhile, go in to the game on the back of two consecutive defeats at Vauxhall Road and will be hoping to resume the away form which saw them win 1-0 at Basingstoke on the opening day of the season a fortnight ago.

Hemel’s squad has been hit hard with injuries which impacted heavily on the last two games, however Tudors boss Dean Brennan is considering a return to the squad for Moussa Diarra, Kieran Murphy, Lewis Toomey and James Simmonds.

“This weekend we have a great opportunity to bounce back from our last two games, as we play two games in three days,” said Brennan.

“First up on Saturday we travel to Maidenhead United – they are a very dynamic team with bundles of pace throughout.

“They’re another seasoned side at this level and it will be another good test for us.

“On bank holiday Monday we entertain Concord Rangers and I expect another tough game in the way of very experienced players within their team.

“Plus, they are a very hard side to beat as they play in a more defensive style.

“The great thing about football is that we are always learning and we will continue to work hard to try and improve.”
