Preview: Tudors heading to the coast to take on high-flying Eastbourne Borough

Hemel suffered their first away defeat during midweek, going down 2-0 at another south coast side Havant & Waterlooville.

Although Hemel have lost four of the opening seven games, it’s worth considering that three of their victors are currently in the league’s top-six positions and enjoying good form during these early stages.

However, Eastbourne – who are managed by former Tudors boss Tommy Widdrington – are currently in fourth place and have the league’s best home form so far.

They boast a 100 per cent win record in three games, only conceding once. The lost for the first time this season during midweek, 5-2 at Boreham Wood.

Tomorrow’s game will be the first time the teams have ever met; Hemel have played other Eastbourne clubs over the years but Borough were formed as Langney in 1964.

They competed in the Southern League at the turn of this century but had been promoted to the Conference South by the time Hemel had moved to the Southern League from the Isthmian league.
