Up against London Tigers, Tring found themselves 1-0 behind at half-time but a stirring second half fightback saw them pull level at 2-2 with goals from Chris Vardy and Luke Dunstan, before Kieran Turner’s last-minute goal snatched all three points.

Robinson said afterwards: “I really thought we deserved it, even though we were in danger of getting nothing out of the game with just eight minutes left.

“It’s a difficult place to go and historically we don’t seem to do very well there, as they are always very lively as proved tonight, but that’s now eight wins out 10 league games and we are up to fifth in the league.

“It’s really pleasing, especially with such a young side, and it would appear we have a real confidence and appetite which comes and grows with working hard and winning games.

“Ian and I are trying to rotate the squad to keep every one involved and everyone seems to understand we need to do this to keep us fresh and ticking over.

“I think we know we are far from the finished article and we need to work on one or two things.

“Tonight we dominated the game but found ourselves 1-0 and 2-1 down to virtually their only shots on target which was very frustrating, but we got the result without Taylor Collins, who got injured Saturday, and a number of other injured players such as Greg Deer and Ollie Butler.

“The only bad point of the night was the injury to Adam Toone, who looks like he may have seriously hurt his hip, we will know more later and hopefully it will not be as bad as we fear.

“As always these good runs of form stop as quickly as they come but hopefully if we keep working hard we can go into the next few games in good form and confident.”

Tring travel to Harefield United tomorrow for an SSML Premier Division clash.
