Levy Green Ladies sink Great Shelford with dominant display

Three more points were bagged by Leverstock Green Ladies on Sunday when they travelled to Cambridgeshire to defeat Great Shelford 4-1.

Levy looked the stronger of the two sides throughout the first half but somehow found themselves a goal behind 34 minutes into the game.

However, this only served as a catalyst for Levy to up the pressure on the Shelford goal.

The visitors were rewarded five minutes later when captain Jo Williams received the ball from Giselle Randall and bent it into the top corner from 20 yards to level the scores.

Five minutes later and Levy were deservedly ahead, with Lucy Tape finding the net from long range free-kick.

It was Shelford who started strongest in the second half but Levy Ladies defended stoutly, with Jess Devoti marshalling her defence.

It took 20 minutes before Levy extended their lead when Randall threaded a ball through a gap in the defence for Williams to double her tally and end any hopes the home side might have had of a comeback.

Nic Hollick completed a fine team performance when she latched onto a Devoti goal kick and outpaced everyone around her to put it past a stranded keeper.
