Leisure Leagues round-up: Slytherin stay top with a crushing win

Slytherin FC are the only team across both divisions to maintain a 100 per cent points record after three games, including their latest 13-3 win over improving Smack My Pitch Up.

Slytherin keeper Callum Mackie has played a pivotal role in the team’s run of results so far and his performance on Sunday was equally impressive, as was that of team-mate Kenny Harrington, who made his debut for the club and scored.

Meanwhile, it was Jake Smith of Smack My Pitch Up who was awarded man of the match for his heroic goalkeeping display.

Elsewhere in the Championship, Ross Dutton’s The Oysterfarions were looking for their first win of the campaign as they faced experienced Hemel Elite.

Dutton’s men got off to a flying start with front-man Adam Alcock netting a superb strike, although the lead was short lived as Elite bounced back with two goals of their own before half-time.

Elite player/manager Chris Wyatt clearly chose some wise words during the break as his team seemed revitalized going forward and eventually ran out 10-2 winners.

Have You Got It made it two wins in succession as they triumphed over Charlie Bull’s ATBL.

Despite an outstanding first half display from clinical striker Scott Dormody, ATBL still found themselves trailing 6-3 at half-time.

Have You Got It player/manager Asa Foster initially struggled with his shooting accuracy, but with a tally of eight goals by the end of the game, he was certainly the difference between the sides.

There was nothing chicken about Championship side Chicken Kiev this week, as they gave a heroic display against title favourites Up Yours FC.

It was Kiev keeper Paul Paprotny who took the man of the match accolade for an unrivalled performance between the posts, including an extraordinary double save late on in the match to keep the scores level at 5-5.

The Fellowship had a close encounter with AFC Lech Albans, but Andy Jeffreys proved to be the difference as The Fellowship went on to celebrate a narrow 5-4 win.

Kegs Down, who were once again without influential player/manager Liam James, took on AFC Lech Fellowship, in their points match.

Kegs had a two-goal advantage going in at half-time, and they built on this lead with a flurry of goals in the second half.

Kegs Down goalkeeper Joe Smith picked up the man of the match award for his outstanding saves, and even a goal of his own when he played outfield in the later stages.
