Their visitors will definitely be from the EBAC Northern League, but which of the three teams it is that Berko entertain should be resolved this week.

Tomorrow night (Tuesday), South Shields make a fifth attempt to play Morpeth, and at the weekend the winners of that outstanding third round tie will be at home to holders North Shields in the fourth round, weather permitting.

That match will decide who is coming to Broadwater to face Berkhamsted, who have won six games in the Vase so far this season and will again enjoy home advantage in their bid to reach the quarter-finals.

They are now three steps away from a trip to the world famous Wembley Stadium, where North Shields pulled in a crowd of nearly 10,000 for the final last season.
