Berko finished sixth in the SSML Premier Division table, while also winning the Dudley Latham Memorial Cup to end the campaign on a high.

Davis said: “Most people had made us title favourites when the season started but that was their view and, although we thought we had a chance, we weren’t the ones getting carried away.

“We had a great start to the season that saw us pick up the team of the month award and it was well-deserved.

“A loss of form, suspensions, injuries and experimenting with new players saw us fall off the pace. Mistakes were made but we will learn from this as a club and I am sure we will be closer in the league next season.

“The club on the field continues to grow in the right way, with our young reserve side continuing to produce some good young players who have represented the first team and not looked out of place at all. The reserves also finished as runners-up in their league, losing out on the last game after being top all season.

“Off the field we continue to grow with improvements to our facilities. We continue to make this club a good environment to play football. If we carry on this way, it does not matter who is in charge behind the scenes or on the field. Things can only improve at this very well-run club.

“To sum up, we are a seven-year-old club who continue to grow and I have no doubt in my mind we will be successful. Onwards!”
