With Hawkins set to complete a move to League Two side Dagenham & Redbridge, the Tudors have snapped up Nottingham Forest U21 duo Nikolay Todorov and Luke Thomas, with Mitch Brundle arriving from Braintree Town and Zane Banton extending his loan from Luton Town.

“We have got a busy schedule coming up so we needed to strengthen the squad over the next four or five weeks, and that’s what we have done,” said Hemel boss Brennan. “Basically, it’s one out and four in.”

Speaking after their first training session with the Tudors, Todorov and Thomas told the Gazette that their main reason for joining Hemel was the need to gain valuable first team experience.

Speedy winger Thomas said: “Hopefully I will get some game time and get out there playing again because I haven’t really played for a while.

“It’s a bit of a trek to get down here, but my gaffer knows the Hemel managers so hopefully everything goes well.

“I’ve come here to express myself and show everyone what I can do.”

Bulgarian striker Todorov added: “I want to get some game time and some experience of playing men’s football.

“After that, hopefully I will get a better chance to compete for a place in the Nottingham Forest reserve team.

“It will be a good experience and it will be a bit different for us playing against men, with a few people there watching the game.”
