Goodwin takes over as Berko goalkeeping coach as preparations begin

Berkhamsted FC have unveiled Dean Goodwin as the club’s new goalkeeping coach as the Comrades ramp up their preparations for the 2015/16 season.

Goodwin has previously worked with Arsenal Ladies and is currently completing his UEFA B coaching badge.

Meanwhile, the club will be holding ‘working parties’ over the weekends of June 13/14 and 20/21, starting at 10am. Supporters are invited along to help the club carry out ground maintenance work including painting and gardening.

In other news at the club, Berkhamsted’s first team pre-season fixture list has been announced: July 18 - (H) v Global Performance XI; July 21 (A) v Winslow United; July 25 (A) v St Albans City XI; July 28 (H) v Kings Langley; July 30 (A) v Bovingdon; August 1 (H) v Aylesbury; August 4 (H) v St Margaretsbury (Herts Charity Shield).

On top of this, the Berkhamsted reserve side are on the hunt for a new manager.

The Suburban League North promises a host of local derbies for the Comrades reserve side, who have chosen to remain in the division after finishing as runners-up last season.

They are to be joined by relegated Tring Athletic and new applicants AFC Dunstable, Aylesbury and Kings Langley. Remaining in the division will be Biggleswade United, Harefield United, Leverstock Green, North Greenford United and Northwood.

The league season starts on Saturday, August 15.
