Frendo leaves Tudors to sign for Dunstable Town after disappointing spell

Hemel Hempstead Town have parted company with striker John Frendo after an injury-hit few months at Vauxhall Road.

Former St Albans City man Frendo only joined Hemel in June, but suffrerd an injury in his first training session, and has now signed for Dunstable Town following a recent loan spell at Hitchin Town.

“John’s gone to Dunstable and we wish him all the best,” said Tudors manager Dean Brennan.

“He had a nightmare start with us – he’s a player who needs to get fit quick and he needs games in order to get fit.

“He tore his ankle ligaments in his first training session with us and sometimes you just need a break in football.

“It didn’t happen for John at our football club, and we couldn’t afford to wait for him to get up to the fitness levels required.

“He had to make sacrifices and obviously he hasn’t done that, but we wish him well.

“He’s a great lad and was always a fantastic character but sometimes these moves just don’t work out – sometimes they do and sometimes they don’t.”

Meanwhile, winger Jamal Lowe is also on his way out of the club, having completed a move to Hampton & Richmond Borough after falling out of favour at Vauxhall Road.
