The kick-off was initially delayed by 25 minutes as both sides waited for a new official to arrive and replace one who had pulled up with a calf injury in the warm-up.

When they did kick off, brothers Leigh and Louis Rose gave Hertford an early two-goal lead.

In reply, Berko hit the post and Josh Chamberlain netted from the rebound to set up what looked set to be a good cup tie.

However it was all in vain, as soon afterwards Tyler Hatherley skidded and crashed into the hoardings at the Canal End.

The match officials decided it was getting too dangerous along the Canal End goal-line, so the sides did not appear for the second half.

The league have rearranged the quarter-final tie for next Tuesday, kick-off 7.45pm.
