Saffron Walden play in the Eastern Counties League Premier Division – the same level as Berko’s Spartan South Midlands League Premier Division in the non-league pyramid.

In the same round last season, Kings Langley made the same journey to Catons Lane and in front of nearly 400 fans, drew 5-5 after 90 minutes only to lose by a goal in extra-time.

It will be a familiar journey for at least two Berko players as Alex Campana and Nick Jackson played for Langley that day and have joined the Comrades this season.

The Vase fixture will be played on Saturday, December 12 and replaces Berko’s league game at Hertford Town.

The club will be organising a coach to Saffrom Walden for match, with the winners going through to the last 32 of the competion.

Details of the cost will be announced nearer the time, but fans should be able to sign up for a seat on the coach at Berko’s Herts Senior Cup tie with Watford at Broadwater on Tuesday, December 1.
