The opening goal came in the 15th minute and will be talked about for a long time as Josh Chamberlain spotted Brazilian goalkeeper Arlys Pampolin off his line and let fly from inside his own half with a wonder shot that went just in under the bar.

Jabir Laraba shot wide for the home side and BJ Christie struck the bar with a shot for Berko after accepting a pass from Frankie Jowle, while Courtney Massay also fired a shot over the bar.

On their general play, Berko should have had more than a one goal advantage at the interval.

In the second half Chamblerain and Christie both had decent shots but over an hour went by before Berko got their second goal.

Christie was released up the middle, with a full-back playing him onside, and he ran on to shoot under Pampolin for the second goal.

London Tigers are in a three-way scrap to avoid the final relegation position and, after some substitutions, the hosts took heart when they pulled a goal back from a close range shot by Laraba after a corner was not cleared in the 75th minute.

However their challenge was finally killed off by another super strike from hot-shot striker Christie that took his tally for the season to 36 goals.

There was also a powerful volley from James Baldry that went over the bar as Berko looked for more goals in a confident end to the game.

Berko: 1 Tasker, 2 Massay (15 Sears), 3 Rodrigoe, 4 Baldry, 5 Canham ,6 Hawes, 7 Jowle, 8 Farrelly, 9 Christie, 10 Mannion, 11 Chamberlain (12 Foster). Sub not used: 14 To.

Berko are away to Stotfold on Saturday. Manager Mick Vipond hopes that Ashley Morrissey will have recovered from the knock that he took against Ampthill Town.
