Comets young guns show they are up for the cup

Comets Blues U12 romped to a 14-1 victory over Watford Youth to keep their Challenge Cup dreams going strong.

An early ball put Ben Renwick into a one-on-one with the Watford keeper and he deftly rounded him before unselfishly passing to team-mate Taylor Barden to slot home for 1-0.

This was swiftly followed by a Barden corner which found Matt Ellis in the box who hit it first time to extend the lead.

A host of further chances came and went for Comets, before a long punt upfield from the home side allowed their striker to slide the ball home to half the deficit.

After the break, the Watford keeper performed heroics, but the goals still came thick and fast.

A further two goals from winger Renwick, three from man of the match Dan Orchard, another two from Ellis, two from Josh Rembalski and one each from Will Hodgins and Max Lacey sealed the emphatic win for Comets.

There was further good news for the Blues as they booked a place in the quarter-finals of the County Cup via a 2-0 win over Chorleywood Cobras.

Two well taken goals from man of the match Louie Potton was the difference between the two teams.
