Comets Dolphins win the title to move another step closer towards the quadruple

Comets Dolphins U18 have completed the third leg of a possible quadruple today – but not in the way they would have wanted to do so.

After winning the Herts County Cup and WFL League Cup in the last week, Comets needed just a point from tonight’s final league game at home to Omonia to take the WFL Red Division league title.

However, Omonia – who have been beaten twice already this season by Comets – conceded the game, and therefore Comets become 2014-15 league champions by two points as a result

Omonia’s withdrawal will come as a big blow to runners-up Croxley who won their final league game on Tuesday to go a point clear at the top and put the pressure back on the Comets tonight.

On Sunday, Comets play Croxley in the final of the Challenge Cup at Harvesters FC, having won two of their three encounters so far this season. A win would complete a wonderful quadruple for the Dolphins team.
