Manager Paul Fairclough selected Butler as part of his squad for the fixture against Slovakia U21 in a qualifying round of the International Challenge Trophy at Sutton United on Sunday.

Slovakia took an early lead, but England came back to lead 3-1. In the second half Slovakia showed their strength and brought the score back to 3-3.

Butler was brought on after an hour and helped to keep the strong visiting team at bay until a free kick was awarded to Slovakia in the dying seconds.

The Hemel keeper was powerless to stop it and England C were unlucky to lose 4-3.

England C is selected from players who play outside the Football League, while Slovakia use U21 players, many on the books of top level sides.
