Addison at the double to set the Comets soaring

Ashley Addison hit a double as Comets Sports Club progressed to the fourth round of the FA Carlsberg National Sunday Cup.

Comets have a good cup pedigree and extended their run in this year’s competition with a 3-2 win over Hundred Acre thanks to Addison’s brace and another goal from Luke Sharpley.

Elsewhere, AFC Boars booked a spot in the Herts FA Sunday Senior Cup fifth round with a 6-2 win over Vision. James Davies (2), Curtis Donaldson, Jamie Hall, Louis Austin and an own goal did the damage.

Doves United also enjoyed cup success, beating Rifle Volunteer 2-1 in the Intermediate Cup fourth round. Callum Dennis and Sam Flood got the goals.

In BSFL league action, meanwhile, Premier Division side Park Rangers were in ruthless mood – thrashing Robin Hood 8-0 thanks to efforts from Aaron Baverstock (3), Nick Bohknect (2), Kevin Eaton, Chris Parperi and Romain Chapman.

Flaunden picked up three points, winning 3-0 at Gossoms End courtesy of strikes from Ben Adams (2) and Chad Greatorex, while Tom Shaw (2), James Shaw and Tom Kelly were on target for Berko Tornadoes in a 4-2 win at Warners End.

VFC were the big winners in Division One, routing Boxmoor 10-1 with strikes from Marcus Tower (3), Josh Bundey (2), James Bundey, Lewis Rodrigoe and Callum Hurley.

Braces from Ben Butler and Tom Carter earned a 4-1 triumph for Leather Bottle at Run DFC, while The Midland and Greenacres II shared a 2-2 draw.

Division Two side FC Intervino won 3-0 at Landrovers courtesy of goals from Ben Derby, Michael Gray and Glenn Berkeley.

The other two games in the division were drawn, with Berko Tornadoes Reserves and The Queens Head sharing a 3-3 tie, and Echoes and KLCC netting a goal apiece.

There were plenty of goals in Division Three, with FC Berko leading the way with a 7-3 win at Boxmoor thanks to a Martin Jackson hat-trick and goals from Ian George (2), Oli Johnson and Carl Tanner.

Paul Hunt (2), Chris Armorgie, Craig Sharples and Alex Kingsley did the damage for Hemel Hempstead Corinthains in their 5-0 thrashing of Potten End Sunday, and two goals each from Dale Colls and Luke Butler earned a 4-1 win for The Three Tuns over The Three Blackbirds.

Josh Marshall (2) and Matt Bunce netted in a 3-0 win for Berko Athletic against Park Rangers Reserves, while AC Grapes and Echoes Reserves shared a 2-2 draw.

Division Four saw Apsley Athletic thrash Poggenpohl 8-0 with efforts from Ryan Rowe (2), Tim Hatton (2), Adam Routledge (2), Aiden Byrne and Matt Tizzard.

Sporting Blackbirds put seven past Boxmoor Rangers Reserves – through Chris Sykes (3), Greg Goodchild, Doug Sims and Dan Woods – and Big GC FC beat Palace 5-1 with strikes from Jake Hosier (2), Simon Goodall, Sean Grange and an own goal.

Harry Crane and Sean Lane earned a 2-1 win for Herts Fencing against AMG United, while Rose & Crown drew 4-4 with The Old Bell Gate.
