Drying conditions result in a hatful of new PBs at Tring parkrun

Gavin Wild became the first runner to complete the Tring parkrun while giving a piggy-back to his child

With better running conditions, a massive 52 people recorded personal bests – including Colin Phillips who took a fantastic 4m 11s off his PB.

Emily Leathers-Smith, Sharon Maisey, Lesley Jugoo, Richard Alcock, Jon Hull and Lorraine Hurford were also among those who made significant improvements, while Paul Myatt achieved his ninth successive PB.

The fastest boys were Dom Evans, Freddie Truman-Williams and Will Atkinson, with Izzy Bidlake-Hull, Alice Maisey and Victoria Gardner impressing for the girls.

At the front of the field, the first three finishers all improved their PBs.

James Davis of Vale of Aylesbury AC was first over the line in 18:35, with Dominic Evans of Tring RC second in 20:03 and Toby Gribbin not far behind.

For the ladies, Samantha Fawcett of Dacorum & Tring AC – running with her dog – was first home, followed by Mary Ward of Tring RC and Lynda Hembury in third.
