Camelot youngsters share the spoils with Harpenden

On a very wet and windy Sunday morning, the Camelot U11s travelled to Harpenden with two teams ready to play out eight 12-minute matches against four Harpenden sides.

By the end of nearly two hours of solid rugby, there was nothing to separate the two clubs – with both winning three matches each, drawing two and rattling in 17 tries apiece.

Not every game was close; Camelot X got off to a winning start with successive 3-1 victories before suffering two defeats – the final match being a thumping 6-1 reverse.

For Camelot Y it went the other way; after two draws and a defeat they finished in rampaging fashion with a stunning 6-0 victory.

The squad has a break for training at the weekend when they will be preparing for a trip up the M1 the following weekend for a tri-fixture against Luton and Biggleswade.

The Camelot U11 team is always on the lookout for new recruits, with training on Friday evenings and training or matches on a Sunday morning.

Any Year 6 children interested in joining should contact coach Dave Martin at [email protected].
