The Hemel Hempstead fighter and coach said the quick win, which he had predicted before the bout against Avi Jack, was the cherry on the cake.

He forced Jack to submit less than two minutes into the fight at Macto’s debut event on Saturday, June 27 at the Milton Keynes Arena MK with a cross face neck crack.

Sutherland, 42, said: “I was expecting to finish quicker but he is quite rangy so I didn’t get to land as clean as I would like to.

“It was easy on the night but like I say to everybody, you train hard so you can fight easy.

“It’s hundreds of hours of training for a minute and a half of fighting. Fighting is like the cherry on the cake.”

The event was Macto’s first fight night and proved a hit with crowds and fighters alike.
Denniston, who runs Hemel Hempstead martial arts gym MMax in Fensomes Alley, said: “It was definitely a very good show and very professionally done. They looked after the fighters really well and back stage was very organised.”
