Berkhamsted put an end to losing run against old rivals Nuffield

It was celebration time for the Berkhamsted squash players as they ended their hoodoo against Nuffield St Albans with an emphatic 4-1 victory.

Berkhamsted had gone a long time without a win against their rivals, but got the job done in fine style to put an end to Nuffield’s dominance.

Josh Ryan and Ali Coker went on first for Berkhamsted, with Coker managing a 3-0 win while Ryan fought back from 2-0 down to win 3-2.

Adam Fuller put up a great fight against Nuffield’s Ben Coleman, taking the first game but eventually losing 3-1.

Joe Green restored Berkhamsted’s two-game cushion by beating Brad Masters 3-0, before Angus Gillams produced a stunning 3-2 win against world number 73 Charles Sharpes to wrap up the victory for Berkhamsted.

The win puts Berkhamsted well clear at the summit of the division, although thy have some tough matches to come – particularly on November 27 when they entertain title rivals Broxbourne in a top of the table clash.
