Berkhamsted hockey sides keep up the promotion push

A hard fought 4-1 win against Luton meant that the Berkhamsted & Hemel Hempstead Hockey Club men’s first XI kept their promotion challenge alive.

Captain Pete Allam scored a hat-trick of short corners, with Simon Royal also on target as Berko turned a 1-1 half-time scoreline into a big win.

Next week’s fixture is away at league leaders West Herts – a victory for Berko should be enough to see them crowned champions, but a defeat would mean that the team miss out on promotion.
