The men’s 2s thrashed Letchworth 5-0, while the men’s 5s also hit five as they beat Southgate Adelaide 5-2. The highlight of the weekend was the men’s 3s, however, as they also beat Letchworth – running out 4-2 victors in a pulsating clash.

Man of the match was Mark Johnson for his goalkeeping heroics, with the win ensuring that the men’s 3s remain in Division 5 following last year’s promotion.

This achievement replicates that of the men’s 4s last weekend, and both teams staying up after last season’s promotions is a real credit to the club. They are both in leagues playing against many other second or third teams, demonstrating the strength in depth across the club.

Also worthy of mention is young Thomas Walker who was celebrating his birthday last week and chose to perform like a star on the hockey pitch for the men’s 5s. He was duly awarded man of the match in his side’s impressive win against Southgate Adelaide.

Results: Men’s 1s 0-8 Wapping; Men’s 2s 5-0 Letchworth; Men’s 3s 3-6 Broxbourne; Men’s 4s 0-1 Hertford; Men’s 5s 5-2 Southgate Adelaide; Ladies’ 1s 1-3 Tring; Ladies’ 2s 0-1 Bedford; Ladies’ 3s 1-3 West Herts; Ladies’ 4s 3-0 Welwyn.
