The Entertainer will be opening a new 3,000 square foot store in Hemel Hempstead’s Marlowes Shopping Centre later this month.
The UK’s ‘fastest growing multichannel toy retailer’ will open its new store on Saturday February 28 as part of a big expansion off the back of soaring profits over the last five years.
The Entertainer will provide further choice for families shopping at the popular centre. The opening will also create nine new jobs in the area.
A spokesman for the company said children stepping into The Entertainer will be ‘transported into a world of wonder, surrounded by all their favourite toys plus friendly staff will be on hand to help guide families around the new store’.
And everyone’s favourite sponge cartoon character, SpongeBob SquarePants, will also make special appearances throughout the day as shoppers get to enjoy various special offers when they make purchases of SpongeBob SquarePants and LEGO.
To celebrate the grand opening The Entertainer is doing a special trolley dash for children who have been supported by Home-Start Decorum, which offers confidential support to families across Dacorum with at least one child under the age of 11 through a network of dedicated, and supervised volunteers.
Volunteers visit families in their own homes for two-three hours a week to provide a helping hand, practical support or a listening ear.
Vince Williams, centre manager at The Marlowes, Hemel Hempstead, is delighted with the latest addition to his retail offering.
“We are delighted to be welcoming The Entertainer into the centre and are sure that the new store will prove very popular with our shoppers,” he said.
Gary Grant, managing director and founder of The Entertainer, said he was delighted to bring his chain to the town.
“After experiencing such solid growth across the UK we are pleased to announce the opening of the Hemel Hempstead store,” he said.
“Hemel Hempstead and the centre itself continues to offer a strong retail position for our store as it attracts large numbers of family shoppers who are demanding more toy shopping choice on the high street and within shopping centres.
“We look forward to bringing joy and wonder to the children of Hemel Hempstead and we have plans to increase our presence in UK and will announce further plans soon.”
