Trinity Women’s Group in Leverstock Green has presented a cheque for £450 to Charlie’s Gift.
The group, which meets monthly at Holy Trinity Church, raised the money from a carol service and a dinner held at the church.
Charlie’s Gift was set up by Hemel Hempstead couple Nicole and Jason Fidler in memory of their son, Charlie, who died suddenly from anaphylactic shock in 2010, aged eight.
The grant-making charity supports children in Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire and Buckinghamshire who face challenges in life because of special and additional needs, disability, bereavement and poverty.
Thanks to the generosity of its supporters, Charlie’s Gift has been able to make grants totalling £48,441 to assist local children since it was first registered as a charity in October 2013.
Nicole Fidler received the cheque on behalf of Charlie’s Gift from women’s group leader Cathy Ayling and treasurer Kathy Perry.
