Well-known actor and award-winning volunteer speak at Rennie Grove party
Tring resident Peggy recently received a British Citizen Award and also won the Charity Retail Association’s Volunteer of the Year Award in recognition of her years of voluntary work for the charity.
This year’s volunteers’ party took place at a new venue, with Shendish Manor kindly donating the use of its hotel set in 160 acres of parkland and gardens for the event.

Hide AdVolunteers from all areas of the charity’s work came together to enjoy platters of mixed cakes with tea or coffee, accompanied by a mix of jazz, blues and Latin music with some 1950s and ’60s favourites from band The Hot Club de Chesham.
They were also treated to a speech from actor Geoffrey Palmer OBE, who is a patron of Rennie Grove Hospice Care.
Several volunteers were presented with long service awards for five and 10 years of dedication.
