The Berkhamsted Walk is a long-standing community event that raises money for The Children’s Society, helping disadvantaged children, runaways and young people in trouble.

Walkers last year raised over £8,500, and over the last 48 years Berkhamsted Walkers have raised more than £275,000 whilst enjoying a wonderful day out in the beautiful countryside that surrounds the town.

The routes are clearly marked and every participant is given a map and instructions to follow.

There are checkpoints every three miles or so with refreshments and there are options to suit all ages, and fitness levels, including the six-mile Walk, the 12-mile Bluebell Walk and the 18-mile Challenge Walk.

The Fun Walk starts and finishes at Ashridge Management College.

The longer walks start and finish with tea and cake at The Court House, St Peter’s Church, in the centre of Berkhamsted.

The walks quickly reach country footpaths and take routes that vary from year to year, through the Ashridge estate and the Chiltern hills, and finish back at the Court House where free tea, squash and cake are provided.

Everyone is welcome to sign up for one of the walks.
