Join a short fundraising walk and help raise money for the Chilterns MS Centre.
To mark its 30th anniversary this year, the centre is holding 30 one-mile fundraising walks during September.
Walk The MS Mile comes to Berkhamsted on Saturday, September 12, setting off from Marks & Spencer, on the High Street, and the Centre in the Park, in Gadebridge Park, Hemel Hempstead, on Sunday, September 13.
Wheelers, pushers, walkers and scooters will convene at the Rose & Crown in Kings Langley on Saturday, September 26, and St Peter & St Paul’s Church, in Tring, on Monday, September 28.
Registration is at 10.30am and the walks set off at 11am.
The Chilterns MS Centre provides a range of therapies for people with multiple sclerosis (MS) living in Bucks, Herts and beyond so we decided to arrange walks in.
Centre trustee Linda Oatley had the idea of Walk The MS Mile – an ambitious plan to raise £30,000 with 30 one-mile walks in 30 locations in September.
Linda said: “The charity is a real lifeline to so many people like myself with MS.
“I have been in training since the start of the year and plan to walk or wheel every mile.
“This ambitious fundraising initiative will not only raise vital funds for the centre but also increase awareness of what it does.
“It helps more than 300 people each week manage their multiple sclerosis symptoms by providing services such as physiotherapy, hydrotherapy, hyperbaric oxygen therapy and acupuncture.
“Users of the Centre also discover new friends and share in the support that meeting people with similar experiences offers.”
