The animal was dangerously out of control near woodland off Marlin Hill in Hastoe, near Tring, at around 1.40pm on Thursday, September 25.

A dog believed to be a golden retriever entered the enclosure and began to attack livestock, killing a goose, two chickens and one guinea fowl.

After about 15 minutes, the dog was restrained by a woman who then walked off.

Three days ago, police released a picture of a woman who they said may have seen what happened, or may have had information to help officers investigate the matter.

The image was published on this website and in its sister newspaper the Berkhamsted & Tring Gazette on Wednesday.

Police have now asked us to remove the picture while they investigate further.

Spokesman Natalie Dearman said: “A woman is now assisting police with their enquiries.”
