UPDATED: Rail delays as person is hit by a train at town station

Train services to and from the capital from Hemel Hempstead are now running again after a person was struck by a train this afternoon.

Updates following the fatality at the town’s station are being posted on the London Midland Twitter account @LondonMidland.

Passengers’ rail tickets were being accepted by other train companies including the London Overground and Underground, Southern Rail and Chiltern.

Services had been suspended on the line but have now been resumed, though the disruption is likely to cause lengthy delays for passengers in both directions on the line between London Euston and the Dacorum station.
