Unemployment fell in Hemel last month. According to the latest figures, in March 2016 875 claimed Jobseeker’s Allowance or Universal Credit, down from 1,014 12 months earlier.
Mike Penning, MP for Hemel Hempstead, welcomed the Office of National Statistics figures.
He said: “The figures continue to show that we are right to focus on the economy nationally. This translates directly into local jobs and which provides a secure future for local families.
“Businesses recognise that this is a great area to be based in, with good communication links, a thriving business community and a business-focussed local council with major regeneration works taking place in the town centre.”
