Two village businesses were broken into over the weekend.

Crooks forced open windows at two properties in Bovingdon High Street overnight on Friday.

In the first break-in, which happened between 5pm on Friday and 10am on Saturday, a silver Apple iMac computer, a Samsung television and a metal cash box were taken.

During the second burglary - between 7.30pm on Friday and 8am on Saturday - thieves searched the premises but nothing was taken.

Anyone with information about the incidents, or who witnessed any suspicious activity in the area around the times stated, is asked to contact police via the Herts Police non-emergency number 101 quoting crime reference numbers D1/15/1444 and D1/15/1438.
