Trust gives a helping hand to community projects with grants

Grants have been dished out by the Box Moor Trust to give community projects a boost.

Each year the trust offers one-off payments to not-for-profit organisations that operate in the Hemel Hempstead and Bovingdon areas.

A total of £28,264 has been awarded to support 17 projects and another £6,000 has been given to the Dacorum Community Trust to distribute as small grants to needy people.

Grants have been given to; Viewpoint, DENS, Gaddesden Row Guide Centre, Hemel Hempstead Town Cricket Club, Radio Dacorum, Karen’s in the Doghouse, The Heather Club, Hemel Aces Junior FC, Boxmoor Cricket Club, Girl Guiding Hemel Hempstead, Signpost, Hemel Hempstead Local History and Museum Society, Bovingdon Cricket Club, Bovingdon Community Association, Bovingdon Memorial Hall, St Albans Church in Warners End, Dacorum Women’s Refuge.

The Trust also sponsors the Dacorum Community Wheels Project with an annual donation of £2,500 to help support their minibus hire service.

The next round of grants will be open for applications from April 2016.
