Trees recycled to encourage birds
Trees which did not form part of garden designer Geoffrey Jellicoe’s original design for the area were cut down, turned into planks and remade into bird boxes before visitors’ very eyes.
Families were given the chance to paint and take some birdboxes, while others were placed in the remaining trees as one of the many methods of increasing biodiversity within the town landmark.
