Town’s Snow Centre hosts stars of Channel 4 reality show The Jump

A Hemel Hempstead sports centre has again hosted celebrity snowboarders and ski competitors ahead of the new series of Channel 4’s The Jump.

The second season of the reality TV and sports hybrid aired for the first time last night – promising to be bigger, better and more daring than before, with a brand new live eliminator dubbed The Air Jump.

For the second year, the celebrity contestants discovered their skiing legs at The Snow Centre in Bennetts End before jetting out to the Austrian Tirol to put their new-found skills into practice.

Among those who visited the town landmark for training were TOWIE’s Joey Essex, rugby player Mike Tindall, cricketer and TV personality Phil Tufnell, coreographer Louie Spence and Paul McCartney’s former wife Heather Mills.

The Snow Centre’s managing director Ian Brown said: “The Snow Centre Hemel Hempstead is delighted to have hosted The Jump’s celebrity competitors during their on-snow training for the second year running!

“It’s always a pleasure to see our guests progress their snowsports skills on our indoor slopes, but we’re excited to keep watching the celebrities compete live in Austria.”

The show revealed how regular guest coaches from the Warren Smith Academy put the celebrity contestants through their initial steps on snow at the centre in preparation for the various snow sports disciplines in Austria.

Wannabe snow sport stars can follow in the contestants’ steps as they take to the slopes, with exclusive skills courses from The Snow Centre.

A Back to Basics course for skiiing and snowboarding with five hours’ adult tuition and lunch and drinks included in the Alpine themed Lodge Bar & Kitchen costs £159.

Alternatively, sign up to a ten week Adult Beginner Ski Course featuring 20 hours of tuition for £299, including first aid training and mountain safety.
