Town’s own golden boy, mayor and MP support mail workers at busiest time of the year
Hemel Hempstead’s giant Royal Mail sorting centre for the Home Counties North district has been flat-out over the last weeks helping post its portion of the estimated 1 billion Christmas cards the UK has reportedly been sending this year.
Added to that the increase in online shopping and our postmen and women have had a real tough task to make sure everyone is smiling in time for Christmas morning.

Town MP Mike Penning, Dacorum mayor Allan Lawson and even Olympic hero and Hemel’s very own golden boy Max Whitlock have passed on their Christmas greetings and thanks to postal workers sorting and delivering mail in the run-up to Christmas.
Each of the visitors was shown around the supercentre by delivery office manager, Ian Searle, and introduced them to postmen and women who are working hard sorting and delivering mail in the run-up to Christmas.
Mike Penning said: “It was great to meet postmen and women at Mail Centre and see how much work goes into delivering our Christmas mail.
