With the theme ‘body confidence’, the calendar sees women draped in flattering colours for photographers who volunteered their time.

The idea for the calendar came after a member of the group, Maria, was diagnosed with the disease.

Polly Harris Gorf, Hemel Hempstead representative for Colour Me Beautiful, says body confidence and cancer are closely linked: “Illness can affect the way you see yourself and your overall confidence. As an image consultant, I try to help women rediscover that confidence.”

But her job isn’t the only reason why this campaign holds significance for Polly. She said: “My mother-in-law is in remission from cancer. I saw how it affected my husband, we know the impact. We’re not just supporting the person but the whole family”.

Each month has a unique model of a range of different ages, body sizes and health. Polly said: “I’m no stick figure, at first I was terrified, but now I feel like I can do anything! And now we want to empower women to feel the same.”

Colour Me Beautiful are looking for local businesses to become ambassadors for the project and sell the calendars. If you want to get involved, call Polly on 07941 860510.

The calendar costs £10.56, all of which goes to Breakthrough Breast Cancer. To buy the calendar, go to www.2015calendar.co.uk
