Organisers Tring Together have co-ordinated two weeks of activities celebrating the seven centuries since King Edward II signed the charter which officially declared Tring a prosperous market town in 1315.

The fun will kick-off on Thursday, June 25 with former Bluetones frontman Mark Morriss performing at Muzicmeet in the Marquee, supported by local talent. Mr Morriss agreed to play in Tring after Richard Langston – one of the organisers for the
weekly Muzicmeet group at The Black Horse in Tring – gave him a call.

Mr Langston, who has pressed a few CDs for Mark through his Tring-based
company Mighty Media Discs, said: “I’m a massive Bluetones fan, and when I started my company I started contacting lots of indie musicians.

“I press a few CDs for Mark and he even came to my house and met my wife and
daughter. When I asked him if he was up for playing in Tring, he said ‘Absolutely’.

“We’re delighted to have him in Tring. He’s the perfect musician for the job.”

Mark will be supported by singer-songwriter Sophie Ray, 22-year-old folk/acoustic
musician Harry Phillips, and Pete & Dunk.
