Three men arrested after police chase on foot

Just after 10.30am on Monday (August 8), it was reported that two men had been seen acting suspiciously in Westfield Road, Berkhamsted.

A van was subsequently stopped by police and one man ran off before being caught by officers in Billet Lane.

Dacorum Neighbourhood Team Inspector George Holland said: “I would like to reassure the local community in Berkhamsted that we treat the burglary seriously and will do everything possible to prevent such crimes taking place and, when such offences are being committed, will ensure those responsible are brought to justice.”

A 23-year-old man from Great Ecclestone in Lancashire, a 22-year-old man from Amersham, and a 15-year-old boy from Chalfont in Buckinghamshire were all arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to burgle.

The trio have been bailed until September 16.
