In its 18th year, 18 teams assembled at the beautiful Ashridge Golf Club for a hearty breakfast of bacon sandwiches accompanied by the essential morning tea and coffee, before teeing off for what was to be another successful fundraising effort.

Keith Smith, owner of Eastwoods and leader of the Eastwoods team, was thrilled yet again with the turn out for the day.

“We’ve been involved with raising money for The Pepper Foundation for 18 years and every year we hope to make our Golf Day a great day out for all involved,” he said.

“Our obvious aim is to help this very worthwhile charity and to raise much needed funds to continue the support they offer families in need, but also to provide an entertaining day for all our teams.

“We are so grateful to all who helped us raise such a significant amount and hope to continue this event for many years to come.

“This year’s golf day raised an amazing £19,034.56; we’d like to thank everyone who took part and express how much we appreciate the support we receive for this event.”

Preparations for next year are already under way and Eastwoods are hoping it will be bigger and better than ever.

For this to happen, they need local businesses to continue to support them with unique auction lots and raffle prizes. Volunteers on the day will also be welcomed with open arms.
