There’s no room for soggy bottoms at the Great Berkhamsted Bake Off!

Lorna Chapman, 18, will travel to Burkina Faso this March to work on a 10-week development programme through the International Citizen Service that will see her team up with local volunteers to tackle problems facing the community.

She has pledged to raise £1,500 before heading off and, so far, through cake sales, bag packing and a Christmas dinner she has racked in £412.

The Great Berkhmasted Bake Off on Saturday, February 21 invites budding bakers to enter their cakes for judging at Berkhamsted Town Hall.

It costs £3 per cake tand competitors must email their name, age and confirmation that they will be at the town hall at 9am on the competition day to [email protected].

Anyone that lives, works, volunteers or goes to school in Berkhamsted is eligible to compete.

Lorna said: “I hope to make this bake off a great community event for all of Berkhamsted involving children, young adults and adults, as well as being a fundraiser for such a good cause.”
